| Brezovo Cultural Meetings 2003 Honouring Jordan Piperkata and linden Uprising
100 Years_Ilinden : (MIA, 15.12.2003) - Traditional Brezovo Cultural Meetings 2003 were held in Brezovo on Saturday in honour to 100 Years Ilinden and vojvoda Jordan Piperkata. The event opened with a wreath laying ceremony outside the memorial board, at the house Jordan Piperkata was murdered in on 14th December 1902.
A monograph “Brezovo - Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow” by Zivko A. Popovski and a book “Brezovo: Biography of Rock and Flower” by Trajan Martinoski were promoted within the programme.

100 Years_Ilinden : (Vest, 28.10.2003) - An exhibition “Ilinden 1903-2003” is opening at Trajko Prokopiev Culture Centre in Kumanovo at 7.00 p.m. today by Atanas Vangelov, PhD. The show presents documents and other materials from the fund of the State Archive of Macedonia. The exhibition is organized to mark the 100th Anniversary of Macedonian statehood and in Kumanovo it runs through November 10th.

The artist exhibits paintings, oil on canvass and watercolor, and icons. The exhibition has been organized within the events marking the 100th Anniversary of Ilinden Uprising.

| In Stip and Strumica Today - Promotion of Six-Volume “Ilinden” Edition
100 Years_Ilinden : (Vecer, 03.10.2003) - A six-volume edition, “Ilinden” will be promoted in the premises of Goce Delcev Library in Stip at 12.00 a.m. and at the Culture Centre in Strumica at 6.00 p.m. today. The publisher, Kultura has released the edition to mark the 100th Anniversary of Ilinden Uprising and has already promoted it in Skopje. The presentation in Stip and Strumica is organized by St. Kliment Ohridski National and University Library.

| Cherry-tree Gun Moves to Krusevo on September 8th
100 Years_Ilinden : (Vest, 05.09.2003) - The historical cherry-tree gun, which the Military Museum in Istanbul has temporarily waived to Macedonia on the 100th Anniversary of Ilinden uprising, moves to Krusevo on the Day of Independence, September 8th and will be displayed in front of the Ilinden-Macedonium monument.
Turkey gave us the gun for a three-month period. Upon its arrival to Macedonia, the gun was displayed at the Museum of Macedonia within an exhibition, “1903-2003 Kresna, Ilinden, ASNOM, Independence.”

| New Issue of Stremez - In Honour to Century-Old Ilinden
100 Years_Ilinden : (Vecer, 03.09.2003) - The latest issue of the Stremez literary and cultural magazine is dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of the Macedonian greatest revolutionary holiday, Ilinden. On this occasion, many authors refer to the event with their opinions, essays and reviews. Poet Ante Popovski is represented with a poem, “Holy Land,” published under a simplified title “There Is No Other Country Except the Country.” Folk poetry by Macedonian unknown heroes killed in the Ilinden epopee is also published.

100 Years_Ilinden : (Utrinski Vesnik, 14.08.2003) - A meeting with the author Trajan Petrovski is organized at Grigor Prlicev City Library in Ohrid at 11.00 a.m. today marking the national jubilee, 100 Years Ilinden - 100 Years Statehood. | In Veles - Monument to Gemidzijas by Stanko Pavlevski
100 Years_Ilinden : (Vecer, 05.08.2003) - A Monument to Gemidzijas that was uncovered on August 2 is the work of the artist Stanko Pavlevski. The monument was built on the bank of the Vardar, in the place wherefrom the gemidzijas of Veles departed for Thessalonica and is an unusual composition of 12 stylized and refracted skyward pipes, the symbol of freedom. “We Are Giving Ourselves for Macedonia” is the inscription on the monument as the main motto of the idealist actions taken in April 1903 in Thessalonica by a group of Macedonian youth united around the Gemidzija Circle.
The monument was promoted by Minister of Finance and Vice Prime Minister Petar Gosev.

| Ten Days Krusevo Republic Cultural Meetings - Evening with Milka Eftimova
100 Years_Ilinden : (Utrinski Vesnik, 04.08.2003) - Leading opera singer Milka Eftimova accompanied on the piano by Jasminka Cakar is performing in a concert at the Museum of NOV in Krusevo at 9.00 p.m. today within Ten Days Krusevo Republic Scientific-Cultural Meetings. Flutist Nikola Atanasov is the guest of the concert entitled Evening with Milka Eftimova. Another event within the Meetings today is a poetry recital of Mihail Rendov’s work by Sofija Gogova Vrcakovska. The Meetings are taking place from August 1 - 10.

| Exhibition of Kicevo Area During Two Ilindens
100 Years_Ilinden : (Vest, 31.07.2003) - “Kicevo and Kicevo Area During Two Ilindens” is the title of an exhibition opening at the Museum of West Macedonia in Kicevo tomorrow evening. Custodian Goce Veljanovski-Zdravevski says the concept is based on people in Kicevo and Kicevo area who left their marks in the history of Macedonia in the periods of Ilinden and People’s Liberation Struggle during World War II.

| Permanent Exhibition at Krusevo Foundry
100 Years_Ilinden : (Vest, 31.07.2003) - A permanent exhibition at the Foundry in Krusevo is opening at 1.00 p.m. tomorrow. The exhibition includes a collection of weapons from the period of Ilinden Uprising and original items and tools that were used for weapon production. A part of ammunition, bullets and bombs the revolutionaries used to defend the Krusevo Republic are also presented.
The historical exhibition has been prepared by the Museum in Krusevo.

| Bitola - Photographs on Ilinden
100 Years_Ilinden : (Dnevnik, 31.07.2003) - An exhibition marking the 100-year jubilee of Ilinden Uprising is opening at the Institute, Museum and Gallery in Bitola at 8.00 p.m. tomorrow. The exhibition includes 41 boards with photographs, archive documents and items from the period of uprising.
The historian and advisory-custodian Nikola Minovski is the author of the exhibition.

100 Years_Ilinden : (Utrinski Vesnik, 31.07.2003) - 2003 Brezovo Cultural Meetings were first organized last year and the tradition is continuing this year. On August 2, Brezovo will be the venue of the second Brezovo Cultural Meetings. The idea of such an event came from Zivko A. Popovski, fine artist who comes from this village, and as he says, the aim is to revive this part of Macedonia, preserve the tradition and memory of Jordan Piperkata and the vojvodas who came from Brezovo.

| Thirty Galicnik Locals Headed to Krusevo on Horse Backs

| Krusevo in Light of August 2 - Casting Plant- Gallery for Historic Display
100 Years_Ilinden : (Makedonija Denes, 02.06.2003) - The agreement for start of the restoration activities at monument “Makedonium” in Krusevo was signed in the Bureau for Protection of Cultural Monuments.
Monument “Ilinden” or “Makedonium” will be the stage of part of the activities at the central August 2 manifestation in honor of 100th anniversary from the Ilinden Uprising and the Macedonian statehood. Thus, all restoration activities at the object will be finished by July 27.

| Session of Parliamentary Culture Committee
100 Years_Ilinden : (MIA, 28.05.2003) - The Culture Committee accepted a draft-bill on empowering an organization to make suitable coins to mark the 100th Anniversary of Ilinden Uprising on a session today.
The draft-bill stipulates for the coins to be made by Goldmak in Radovis. They will be finished by the end of the year, it was said on the session.

100 Years_Ilinden : (MIA, 06.05.2003) - On occasion of the 100th anniversary from the Ilinden Uprising, library "Miladinovci Brothers" from Skopje announced an open competition for literary works on topic "100 Years of Ilinden Uprising".
The open competition is divided in two categories: for high school pupils, and students and adults. According to the rules, the songs should not be longer than 30 verses, the short stories not more than 6 pages (typed) or not exceeding 12,000 computer signs.

| 100th Years of Ilinden on Film - Film Programme Will Be Shown in 12 Towns
100 Years_Ilinden : (Utrinski Vesnik, 27.03.2003) - An exhibition, “100 Years of Ilinden on Film” and a film cycle on Ilinden themes opened at Marko Cepenkov Culture Centre in Prilep marked the start of the programme Kinotekata na Makedonija prepared to mark the 100th Anniversary of Ilinden Insurrection. The programme, which includes seven full-length films and a grand exhibition inspired by Ilinden events, has an important place in this year’s diverse activities Kinotekata na Makedonija is taking to mark the jubilee.
