Ohrid Summer Festival - "The Balkans is not dead" by "Ljubomir Kabakciev" Theatre

(Makedonija Denes, 09.08. 2004) - Within the festival programme of Ohrid Summer, Monday evening, at 21,00h, in the yard of St. Sophia Church, the audience will have an opportunity to see the play "The Balkans is not dead " on text by Dejan Dukovski and with tour by Bulgarian company from the "Ljubomir Kabakciev " Theatre from Kazanlak, Bulgaria. The play is directed by Sophia Ristevska while stenography and the costumes are made by Antonia Popova. Translation from Macedonia to Bulgarian was made by Mladen Aleksiev.
Music for the play was written by Emilian Gacov. Petja Jankova, Atanas Copov, Vasko Mavrikov, Stavro Ivanovski, Georgi Antonov, Kostadin Popov, Hristo Sofev, Georgi Garcov, Stefan Markov, Olena Shiderova, Svetlana Burgazova, Mariana Velkova, Sonja Dejanova, Marija Stojanova, Stanislav Stefanov, Petar Pondev, Stojan Borisov and Nikolaj Conev will have the leading roles.
"Ljubomir Kabakciev° Theatre is from Kazanlak, town in the heart of the popular Rose Valley. Theatre's repertoire is very rich. It includes a lot of performances for every audience, from youngest to the oldest one. It has participated in more theatre festivals in the world and has many prizes too. Making Macedonian text with a Bulgarian company, Bulgarian stenographer but Macedonia director, incites indeed unification of idea and emotions of the authors coming from different circles but with equally strong desire for cultural and spiritual connections.
"The Balkans is not dead" is a story about thesis if the death is revenge that would subordinate destinies and excite welfare on the Balkans?
Sophia Ristevska graduated from theatre directing in 2003 at the "Krsto Sarafov" National Academy for Theatre and Movies in Sophia, Bulgaria. She follows post-graduate studies at the University of Arts in Belgrade.
