Antique Drama Festival - Grand Prix for “Orest” by Veles Theatre
(Dnevnik, 16.08.2004) - “Orest,” the production of Jordan Hadzi Konstantinov National Theatre in Veles directed by Stojan Stojanovski is the winner of Grand Prix at this year’s Stobi International Antique Drama Festival. The festival closed yesterday evening with “Crnila” by Kole Casule performed by the National Theatre in Stip.
A jury composed of Meto Jovanovski, Blagoj Corevski and Katerina Kolozova allotted the best director award to Ljupco Georgievski for “Medea” performed by the Istanbul City Theatre. The award for the best actress went to Sebnem Kostem for the role of Medea. Artur Karaletjan is the winner of the best actor award for the role of Creon in “Antigona” by the Youth National Theatre in Yerevan, Armenia. The Festival Managing Board also allotted a special award to Bodan Arsovski for the original score in “Orest’. The audience award went to Koljo Cerkezov, an actor at the Veles Theatre for his role of Orest.
Local self-government of Veles allotted an award for special artistic expression to “Oedipus the Tyrant “directed by Ozren Prohik, the production of the Croatian National Theatre, and a collective performance award to Codart Theatre in Amsterdam for “Oedipus” directed by Corrine Manara.
