Ohrid Summer - Concert of Musica Viva Chamber Ensemble

Musica Viva Chamber Ensemble
(Utrinski Vesnik, 18.08.2004) - A concert of Musica Viva Chamber Ensemble under the artistic director and conductor Sergey Stadler will be held at St. Sofia Church in Ohrid at 9.00 p.m. Musica Viva academic chamber ensemble was established in Vladimir in 1978 by violinist and conductor Viktor Kornachov. Russian Honorary Artist Alexander Rudin, a distinguished cellist and pianist and conductor, has been at the head of the ensemble since 1988.
The wide repertoire and independent performing style of the band enable one to feel the orchestra as an ensemble composed of many soloists. One of the typical style features of the ensemble is the continuing link based on historically credible performance of music works and presentation of works hardly known and unknown to the audiences. Musica Viva collaborates with a number of prominent performers of modern times such as Viktor Tretjakov (violin), Jury Beshmet (alto), Dmitry Sitkovecky (piano), Igor Ojstrah (violin), Vladimir Krajnev (piano) and others. The orchestra has recorded more than 20 CDs.
