Ohrid Summer 2004 – “Gypsies Fly in the Sky” of Terazije Theatre and “Home of Bernarda Alba” of Drama Theatre Most Successful Performances

(Nova Makedonija, 23.08.2004) - The biggest Macedonian summer international manifestation “Ohrid Summer 2004” comes back to the artists and the audience with its program. During the 40 festival days, its diverse stage-artistic program, including more than 60 performances, continued to destroy the formerly set up division of the music and drama program. It continued to realize the idea of a new festival concept, interweaving everything that is called stage art. Editorial staff of daily “Nova Makedonija” allocates the annual awards within “Ohrid Summer” entitled “St. Kliment Ohridski”.
Statue “St. Kliment Ohridski” is given to musical “Gypsies Fly in the Sky” of Terazije Theatre from Belgrade, Serbia-Montenegro, which was performed on July 29. This musical, done according to the prose motives of Maxim Gorky “Makar Cudra”, upon the music of Evgeny Doga”, directed by Vladimir Lazic, was played in the Antique Theatre, including music, dance, interpretation, which confirmed the fact that such projects communicate in the best way with the audience, which is one of the current and future festival projections.
Statue “St Kliment Ohridski” is presented to performance “Home of Bernarda Alba” of Skopje Drama Theatre, which was played on August 3. Done according to the text by Federico Garcia Lorka, directed by Gorcin Stojanovic, this was a strong performance, a new story about the time where wishes and passions are killed, time in which people mainly close themselves in their homes. The dictatorship of the ones that take it themselves and rule through it with the others create a prison, in which the only scent is the one of the living-dead people.
