SECOND AUTUMN MUSIC FESTIVITIES- “ALEA”- INTRODUCING “NEW” CONTEMPORARY MUSIC
(Makedonija Denes, 9.11.2001) - Ensembles of contemporary music “Alea” will perform at the Skopje Museum at 20,30 this evening.
The program includes works by Francois Sarhan from France, Nikola Micevski from Macedonia, Vojciek Vidlak from Poland, Jovica Mutavcik from Yugoslavia, Valentina Velkova from Macedonia, Ronald Freitzer from Austria, Peter Durko from the Czech Republic and Igor Hromadski from Ukraine.
Ensemble “Alea” was established in 1998 and has participated at several festivals in Macedonia, as well as in the framework of several music manifestations. The ensemble has worked under the conductor’s stick of Goce Kolarovski, Sasha Nikolovski-Gumar, Pande Shahov, Kristina Prenkovska, Sasho Tatarcev and has performed with several soloists. In the 18 performances so far, the ensemble has performed 43 compositions by 31 authors, from 15 different states, 19 of which were premieres.
With its performances, ensemble “Alea” is an important factor in Macedonia’s musical life, before all in the field of contemporary i.e. “new” music, showing an indisputable growth at a professional level and ensemble team-work with every new performance, thus giving incentive to authors, who search for new means of expression.
