| Messages on World Day of Dance – Dance, Peace will Come for Sure
(Vecer, 29.04.2005) - As a sign of support to the pledges for integration of Macedonian ballet and contemporary dance in Europe and beyond, Macedonian Center of ITI-UNESCO, in cooperation with Inter-Art Cultural Center marks this year’s World Day of Dance, April 29 with a Macedonian message, written by Macedonian Opera and Ballet artistic director, Katerina Kiprovska.
“In the beginning there was no word, just dance, because movement is joy. These are the words of renowned ballerina Maya Pliseckaya, who depicts joy in the simplest manner, which is a privilege for those involved in dancing. The trait of this art is its manifestation through a synthesis of movements and gestures along with music for the purpose of expressing thoughts and feelings that are focused on something beautiful and elevated”, Kiprovska says in her message.
Japanese dancer Miyako Joshida sent this year’s World Message, which reads “Dance is nobody’s exclusive possession. It allows joy for the dancer and the viewer. The dance language knows no boundaries. It goes beyond the class belonging, education, state and religious affiliation. Its dictionary is endless, because human feelings echo through movement. Dance enriches the soul and elevates the spirit. Dance lives in all living things. Let all children dance and peace will come for sure”. |
