|Ohrid Summer Today - Macedonian Ballet “I Isadora”
(Vest, 18.07.2005) - Macedonian Ballet is performing “I Isadora” at St. Sofia Church at 10.30 p.m. today. The project is based on the idea of ballerina and choreographer Olga Pangovska who has written the libretto and choreographed and directed the ballet inspired by the life of American great ballerina Isadora Duncan.
The action in “I Isadora” focuses on the period when Duncan comes to Moscow and meets great poet Sergey Yesenin.
Besides with her dance, Duncan stirs up the world with her love affair with much younger Yesenin who committed suicide at only 30. The project is Pangovska’s MA work.
Kaliopi Bukle is the author of music made especially for the ballet. Sasa Eftimova plays the lead role of Duncan and Vasil Zafircev appears in the role of the sad poet and lover Yesenin. The cast also includes Biljana Kalenikova, Biljana Basmadzieva, Stefan Kocovski, Dafina Danilovska and Lile Milenkovska. The stage design and costume design have been made by Blagoj Micevski.
