| Gligor Stefanov Exhibits in the United States – “Make Hay” at Stone Quarry Hill Art Park
(Utrinski Vesnik, 31.08.2005) - Sculptures of Macedonian artist Gligor Stefanov are exhibited within an international exhibition “Make Hay” that will open at the Stone Quarry Hill Art Park in Casenovia, New York.
Stone Quarry Hill Art Park is one of the first parks for spatial sculpture in the United States and is located in the magnificent rural landscape of the upper part of New York State. Sculptures made in natural materials are displayed on an area of 50 hectares.
Stefanov is presenting two spatially determined works made of long cylindrical forms of hay, net and cord folded and shaped in new structures of living organisms. His structures of nests are intended to show the relation between his work and the given area while transforming into a dramatic act that determines and revives perception of the ratio between the tangible and spiritual, temporary and permanent.
Macedonian-born Stefanovski, who lives in Canada, was Macedonian representative at the Venice Biennial in 1993. He has presented his art work in 100 national and international exhibitions. |
