Ahead of This Year’s Young Open Theatre – Its Time for MOT
(Vest, 19.09.2005) - The 30th Young Open Theatre (Mlad otvoren teatar/MOT) is opening on Friday (23rd September) with 24 plays from 12 countries planned to be performed to the end of the festival on 5th October.
The Youth Cultural Centre, the organizer of the festival, which is traditionally the home stage of the festival, is announcing a spectacular opening ceremony with the latest creation, “Purged” by a Belgrade choreographer and dancer. The play will be performe don the stage of the Macedonian Opera and Ballet House.
Legendary Spanish Seamola Theatre will close the festival with its attraction play “Home Sweet Home. No to the War,” a spectacle that will be performed on the Macedonia Square on 5th October.
This year’s MOT will also see “Wet Wedding Ceremony” by the Russian avant-garde, “Caspar” by Slovenian Youth Theatre, “Bernarda Alba’s Home” by a theatre troupe from Bulgaria, a play by Roberto Chuli with the Theatre from Ruhr, Germany etc. The Macedonian plays taking part in the festival are “Don Juan,” the production of the Drama Theatre and “Blindmen” by the Macedonian National Theatre. |
