Ahead of the World Day of Dance – Dance Should Open to New Audiences

Risima Risimkin
(Vreme, 22.02.2006) - The World Day of Dance, 29 April will be marked with different programme activities with a special emphasis to new audiences, the ones that never follow the dance stage during the year, according to the recommendation of CID UNESCO.
“The goal is to attract the attention of wider audiences,” the message of CID UNESCO says suggesting the countries to organize special performances, outdoor courses, public rehearsals, lectures, exhibitions, dance evenings, street performances and publication of articles and TV programmes dedicated to dance.
The message by CID also says that the events organized to mark the World Day of Dance should be carried out in collaboration with government institutions, public schools, city authorities, firms and companies.
CID also recommends free or invitation-based admission for the events in order that audiences not interested in dance are attracted.
Macedonia will comply with the recommendations by CID UNESCO, choreographer Risima Risimkin, the member of the Managing Board of the body for Macedonia says.
