Exhibition of Photographs at Cifte Amam – Stefan Moses’ “Germans”

(Vecer, 19.04.2006) - “Deutsche Vita” is an exhibition of 46 photographs by one of the most prominent and authentic authors in German modern photography, Stefan Moses. Stefan Moses’ life topic: the Germans and their lifestyle and habits regardless of their social status will be displayed at Cifte Amam as of tomorrow (8.00 p.m.). Politicians, street workers, actresses, parking lot keepers, writers, sculptors or painters – all of them are simply gathered in the image of the German society. “Some critics relate the two German authors presented in Skopje this month - Otto Dix and Moses. If Dix has presented himself through the two world wars, Moses is covering a larger decade long period. In the portrait, he could be compared most easily to the greatest names of the world photography,” Zlatko Teodosiveski, Director of the Macedonian National Gallery said at a press conference yesterday.
The photographs are divided in “Germans – West,” “Germans – East, “Old Great People,” “Images in the Mirror,” “Artists Make Masks,” and “German Society.” Besides ordinary citizens, portraits of some of the most distinguished figures of the 20th century such as Enzesberger, the winner of the Struga Poetry Evenings and philosophers Adorno Theodor, Hans Georg Gadamer, Nobel winning Gunter Grass and Heinrich Bell are presented. The photographs are white-and-black and after Skopje, the show is moving to Belgrade.
