May Opera Evenings – “Giselle” with Saint Petersburg Soloists Today

(Vest, 18.05.2007) – Ballet “Giselle” by Adolphe Adam will be performed at 8.00 p.m. today within the May Opera Evenings by leading dancers of the famous Marine Theatre in Saint Petersburg including Ekaterina Osmolkina (Giselle), and Igor Kolb (Albert). The choreographer of the romantic two-act ballet is Leonid Lavrovsky.
Osmolkina graduated from the Vaganova Academy in St. Petersburg. She has worked for the Marine Theatre since 1999 and has performed roles from the iron ballet repertoire. She won the first award at the International Competition in Seoul in 2004.
Kolb was born in Belarus where he graduated from the State Ballet School. He came to the Marine Theatre in 1996 and three years later obtained the status of the leading dancer. He is the winner of a few awards in ballet competition.
The Macedonian Opera and Ballet Orchestra will perform under the baton of Sasa Nikolovski-Gjumar, and solo parts will be performed by Ivana Kocevska, Mimi Aleksova, Boban Kovacevski, Kiro Pavlov. The whole ballet ensemble is performing.
