| Seven Organizers of MOT
(Dnevnik, 1.03.2002) - A council of seven members will make the program conception, organization and realization of the Young Open Theatre, a festival of the Youth Cultural Center.
The council includes the director Aleksandar Popovski, the actor Nikola Ristanovski, the playwrights Goran Stefanovski and Dejan Dukovski, Borce Nikolovski from the British Information Center and Ljubisa Nikodinovki - Bish from the Youth Cultural Center, announced Lidia Nedelkovska, director of the Youth Cultural Center.
Aleksandar Popovski will be president of the MOT council.
He said that the council is not an alibi formation, but all of its members guarantee that MOT will have a thick and strong energy, because all of the members are connected by mutual aesthetic. “I would go to hell with this crew”, wrote Goran Stefanovski in his letter to MOT.
According to the Council of MOT, this year (the 30th edition takes place in September) they will focus on serious plays that mark European theatre today and are the postulates of theatre. They will work on their own production in cooperation with one of the theatres in the country, which will be a relevant representative of Macedonian theatre. Also, the Council will make an effort to bring relevant foreign names, so MOT can become an important place on the map of the international theatre festival.
Kiril Dzajkovski suggested and the council accepted that the building of the Youth Cultural Center would not be closed during MOT and exhibitions and parties with famous musicians would be organized.
For Ristanovski, the Council should not create a revolution of MOT, but an evolution.
Nikodinovski informed us that this year the Ministry of Culture granted 4 million denars to MOT and reminded us that in the last several years the Festival became member of international associations.
The Council appealed for a wider support of MOT, because as Popovski said, it doesn’t belong to the Council, it belongs to the city and it concerns all of us”.
