Skopje Film Festival – Films by Greenaway, Redford, Palfi

(Vecer, 24.03.2008) – Peter Greenaway’s new film “Nightwatching” (nominated for Golden Lion at Venice), Robert Redford’s recent film "Lions for Lambs,” “Taxidermia” by Romanian György Pálfi, a documentary on Philip Glass, one of the most renowned modern composers, ”Glass,” are only a part of the seventy films that will be screened within the spring film event, the 11th Skopje Film Festival.
The event will be enriched with visits by eminent guests from Zagreb Film Festival, and a distinguished guest will give a lecture on film pirating. Macedonian renowned composer Nikola Kodjabashia, who is living and working in London, will lead a workshop on film music.
“A few events are planned for every day besides the screenings,” the organizer, Ivo Antov says. He believes the must of the festival this year is to stand again firmly on its feet. “In future, we would like to make a festival richer in contents and programmes, competitions and visits of world distinguished figures.“

The festival will be held under the motto “Complete Film Treatment.” An exhibition of posters from previous festival events will be opened at the Macedonian Film Library. SFF will announce the complete festival programme tomorrow. The start of the festival is planned for 29 March to 6 April at the Millennium, Ramstore Cinemas and the Film Library.

Film Exhibition of Students of the European University

An exhibition of students of Art and Design Faculty with the European University will be opened within SFF at Mala Stanica on 31st March. The topic of the show is “Film Poster” and the students will present original solutions, according to Antov.
