May Opera Evenings – “Turandot” in Honour to Puccini
(Vecer, 23.05.2008) – The opera “Turandot” will be set within the May Opera Evenings on Saturday encircling a trilogy of works by Giacomo Puccini within the events marking the 150th anniversary of the great composer’s births. Vladimir Galouzinem, one of the leading tenors in the world, will appear in the role of Kalaf, and the role of Princess Turandot is entrusted to Mongolian Bajazaglan Dasnam. The cast also includes Natalija Timcenko (Ukraine), Ivan Tomasev (Serbia), and Deljan Slavov (Bulgaria). “Turandot” is regarded as one of Puccini’s best works and is often set on great opera stages in the world. |
