Opera Diva Jessye Norman to Open “Ohrid Summer”
(Vecer, 03.06.2008) - Jessye Norman, who is currently the best soprano in the world, accompanied by the Macedonian Opera and Ballet orchestra, will open the 48th edition of “Ohrid Summer” festival in the Antique Theatre on July 12.
This is Norman’s first tour in this part of Europe. She has won four Grammies, and has received a life achievement award in the USA. Norman has performed alongside top-class names, top-class orchestras, at the most prestigious global stages. Critics call her a vocal phenomenon, perceived as one of the most beautiful voices in the world.
Besides Jessye Norman, this year’s “Ohrid Summer” will also include other musical spectacles, including renowned cellist Nataly Gutman, famous violinist Sarah Chang, Macedonian opera singers Ana Kontradenko and Boris Trajanov etc. |
