Website www.culture.in.mk Celebrates 7th Anniversary
(www.culture.in.mk, 11.07.2008) - The 7th anniversary of website www.culture.in.mk will be marked on Saturday. In the past year, www.culture.in.mk has experienced expansion, with over 5,000 published news items, enlarging the total archives to 25,000 articles.
The website provides a daily insight into cultural events in Macedonia, as well as representation of Macedonian culture abroad. It meets the role of integrated marketing of Macedonian culture worldwide. It had an English version at first, but financial assistance by foundation “e-Macedonia” has enabled the Macedonian version of the site for more than two years. Through establishment of the Macedonian version and introduction of the search engine, the website has developed into an archive of Macedonian recent culture, and as such is beneficial for journalists, culture operators, and the general public.
Moreover, a new category of web information has been also created by offering a review and guidelines regarding possibilities for financing of cultural projects and institutions via European and other international resources. This information is regularly updated, alongside a system for information exchange, by using e-mail and telephone, to inform Macedonian civic associations, culture operators, and institutions on projects and programs of their interest. |
