Premiere of “Caligula” of Tomaz Pandur at “Ohrid Summer”

(Vest, 07.08.2008) - One of the most-awaited premieres of this year’s “Ohrid Summer” festival, performance “Caligula” of Albert Camus, directed by Slovenian Tomaz Pandur, will be held in the Antique Theatre on Thursday evening at 21,00h.
The performance is co-produced by “Ohrid Summer”, “Pandur Theatre” from Maribor, “Gavela Theatre” from Zagreb, “Ulysses” theatre of Rade Serbedzija, “Budva Grad Teatar” from Montenegro, and Italian “Mittelfest”.
The theme of Camus’ “Caligula” is the absurdity in the existence of a simple man, written about 80 years ago, in a time when new totalitarian rulers and masters of the world had been born, the time of fascism.
“In fact, our Caligula is a story about our loneliness today, in a world where new Caligulas are born every day, but ones who skillfully change appearance, and that is why they are difficult to spot”, says director Pandur.
The cast mainly includes Croatian actors, “Newman” is the stage designer, whereas Angelina Atlagic is the costume designer.
