Famous Violinist Sarah Chang Closes Ohrid Summer
(Utrinski vesnik, 20.08.2008) – The most grandiose cultural event in the country, the Ohrid Sumer is closing with a concert of the famous US violinist Sarah Chang in St. Sofia today (9.00 p.m.). Chang will be accompanied by the Slovenian Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra and will perform a program including pieces by Canev, Sarasate and Vivaldi.
Chang has established the reputation of a super star of the violin playing art. A wunderkind, she started studying violin at the renowned Juilliard School when she was only 4, and at 8, she was engaged by two renowned conductors, Zubin Mehta and Ricardo Muti to perform with the New York Philharmonic and the Philadelphia Orchestra. Since then, the violinist’s career has had an upward trend leading to her winning numerous prestigious music awards. This year, she has been declared Young World Leader by the World Economic Forum for her professional achievements. |
