Artists to Present Macedonia at Great Event Known – Nanevski and Uzunovski Take Part in Venice Biennial
(Dnevnik, 13.01.2009) – Artists Goce Nanevski and Nikola Uzunovski will represent Macedonia in the Venice Art Biennial, Dnevnik reports. Nanevski's project is named "Continuing Distributions of the Unbelievable" and has been proposed by the National Gallery of Macedonia, whereas the Museum of the City of Skopje has applied with "My Sun” by Uzunovski. The projects were evaluated by a three-member jury including Valentino Dimitrovski, Art Historian, Maja Cankulovska-Mihajlovska and Elizabeta Jankovska. Under rules, the Commission only gives recommendation, and it is the Minister of Culture that selects the successful project(s). Having consulted the Culture Council, Minister Elizabeta Kanceska-Milevska decided to send both projects the Commission had selected because one is an indoor and the other is an outdoor project. |
