|Rediscovery of the Skopje Route of Culture – Performances, Poetry and Music at Old Bazaar|
(Vecer, 24.06.2009) – Rediscovery of the Route of Culture is an event, a cultural and music spectacle that will be held in several locations of the Skopje Old Bazaar on Saturday. Skopje inhabitants and visitors of our capital will be able to see theatre plays, exhibitions, poetry readings, and concerts of our famous bands. The event is starting at the Makedonija Square, in front of the Stone Bridge at 8.00 p.m. Movement of the participants and citizens will include Kapan An, Cifte Amam, Suli An, Bezisten, Kursumli An and other.
“The idea is to elevate people’s awareness about the existence of cultural routes and return slowly life in this part of Skopje making cultural values in the museums and cultural heritage available to Skopje citizens and others. The museums and buildings of the cultural heritage are a complex system that can be used in the economic development of the country, Tomislav Stefanovski, project manager of the International Management Group implementing the activities in education and culture funded by the Italian government says.
More than 200 costumed people clad in 19th century attire, jugglers, pantomime artists, and citizens will move from the Makedonija Square across the Stone Bridge to Daut Pasa Amam where the event is officially opening at 8.30 p.m. A first of four balloons will be released there and the procession will continue to Temov Winery where the Calgija Sound System band will have a concert at 9.00 p.m. The Ljubojna band will perform outside Kapan An, and a poetry reading and theatre play will be performed at Cifte Amam. The next destination is Suli An where the Foltin is having a concert. The whole event will end outside Kursumli An via Bezisten where musicians will be located. Bezisten is devised as a corridor that should be passed to reach to the floor outside the Museum of Macedonia where a spectacular concert of the Super Hiks is scheduled for 11.00 p.m. The event is organised within the Skopje Summer.
