| Monograph Dedicated to Danka Firfova, First Female Opera Singer
(Vecer, 08.02.2010) – A monograph, “Danka Firfova – Life Dedicated to Music” by Mirjana Pavlovska Sulajkovska has been published and promoted in Skopje. The monograph is dedicated to the first female educated opera singer in Macedonia.
Firfova was an artist that belonged to the first generation of educated musicians and one of the founders of the Macedonian music culture after the World War II. Historically, she is the first female opera singer in Macedonia who was the founder of the Macedonian opera after the establishment of the Macedonian National Theatre. She took part in the first professional opera in 1947, “Cavaleria Rusticana” and had since taken lead parts in “Aida,” “Norma,” “Turandot,” “Othello” and others. |
