| Day of Canadian Culture in Macedonia
(Utrinski vesnik, 13.04.2010) – A Day of Canadian Culture will be marked at the American College University in Skopje tomorrow. The event will be opened at 11:00 a.m. by Mr. Kenneth Suli, Advisor at the Embassy of Canada in Belgrade, Zivko Gruevski, Honorary Consul of Canada in Macedonia and Prof. Ivan Dodovski, Dean of Foreign Language Faculty.
According to the organizer, a panel on fantasy literature in Canada and Macedonia will be held with Canadian author Krista Johansen, Academician Vlada Urosevic and Prof. Lidija Lapusevska – Drakulevska.
During the day, an exhibition of art photographs, “My Canada” by Canadian artist Ondrej Mihal will be presented. The author is presenting his new homeland through a series of photographs from an immigrant viewpoint. Screening of four films: two documentaries on the history of Quebec, the oldest town on the North American Continent, and two short feature films based on Margaret Atwood’s stories “Polarities” and “The Man from Mars.” |
