Seminar on Macedonian Language, Literature and Culture
(Vecer, 5.08.2002) - Thirty-fifth Seminar on Macedonian Language, Literature and Culture is opening today until 23rd august at the Palace Hotel in Ohrid. Around 120 academicians, professors, scholars, proofreaders and students professionally engaged in studies of Macedonian language and our national culture in 23 countries, are expected to take part in the seminar.
The program includes scientific workshops, promotions of new publications in the area of science and culture, history courses, proofreading practice and popular courses of Macedonian folk dances.
The head of the seminar, Prof. Dr. Maksim Karanfilovski announced lectures on Blaze Koneski, meetings with author Venko Andonovski, this year’s winner of Balkanica and author Cane Andreevski, discussions on the topic “Ohrid Archbishopric in 14th century”, a lecture “Albanians in Macedonia between 1945 and 2000.”
Twenty-ninth scientific discussion including Macedonian-Serb and Macedonian-Polish conferences will be held on 19 and 20 August.
The participants in the seminar will visit a number of cultural and historical monuments in Ohrid, as well as cultural events within the Ohrid Summer and Struga Poetry Evenings.
