From 22nd to 27th September in International Diplomatic Office in Paris, France - Concert of Chamber Orchestra with Macedonian Philharmonic

(Vecer, 20.09.2002) - Chamber Orchestra with the Macedonian Philharmonic is visiting Paris from Sunday to 27th September. Within the visit, the orchestra will hold a concert conducted by Borjan Canev with the soloist Maja Pavlovska, soprano, who lives and works in Paris.
The concert is scheduled for 25th September at the International Diplomatic Office in Paris, and will mark the opening of the concert season of this Academy. Director of the Macedonian Philharmonic Karmen Kostova said that contacts for the visit had been made last September and the final agreement was reached in June.
The Chamber Orchestra with the Macedonian Philharmonic will perform the aria from the Suite 2 by Johan Sebastian Bach, Divertimento 2 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Elegy by Edgar, Ave Maria by Bach-Guno, Nine Miniatures for Blagoj Canev String Players, and Holdberg Suite No 40 by Eduard Grieg.
After the Paris visit, the Macedonian Philharmonic is opening the concert season in Skopje on 3rd October with a concert promoting new instruments, donated by Japan. Pieces by Japanese composers Takamitsu and Yonoushi, a piece by Macedonian composer Toma Mancev and the “Sea” by Claude Debussy will be performed. Japan’s Daisuka Soga will conduct the orchestra and two Japanese musicians playing traditional Chinese instruments will perform.
