Another shocking vandalism act in Leshok - TOMB PLATE OF PEJCINOVIC DESTROYED

In a wild act, the terrorists broke the plate in several pieces, and damaged the cross with diggers and sharp objects

Newspaper teams, accompanied by a police convoy visited and recorded the destroyed tomb of Macedonian Renaissance man Kiril Pejcinovic on Monday. The sight was horrible- the Albanian terrorists overturned the tomb plate, and then broke it in several pieces. The traces from diggers and sharp objects on the cross were a proof that the terrorists performed a wild act. The cross was still standing over the half-opened tomb, which is situated right across the Leshok monastery, which was also destroyed by the terrorists.
Some of the villagers are disgusted by this act, commenting: “How did the dead bother the ones who did this? Where is the world, in order to see this newest crime towards Macedonians?”. Leshok villagers say that they had seen the destroyed tomb on Friday. The police do not have any information about the identity of the perpetrators of this wild act.
Kiril Pejcinovic was born in 1770 in Tearce, and died in 1845 in Lesok. He was a preacher and educator of the Macedonian people, collector of church manuscripts. He was one of the first writers in Macedonian language, with a dominant use of the Tetovo dialect. His works “Mirror” and “Utesenie Gresnim” include him in the list of Macedonians who printed books at that time. Kiril Pejcinovic received an approval from Abduraxman Pasha to restore the, back then, destroyed Leshok monastery “St. Atanasij”, and 156 years later, the monastery and his tomb have been again destroyed.
